“I am an artist. I AM an artist. Who, me? Yes, me! After a long stop/start period…am I good enough…will anyone like it…I have finally realised a dream. For as long as I can remember, art has been my ‘happy place’. I would marvel at my mother’s talent when she created paintings, pottery and floral arrangements. Dad would explain in detail the plants of the bush that he trekked through as a surveyor. Later, Mum, Dad and I took pottery, painting and still-life drawing classes. They were such an inspiration!
I don’t choose the subjects I paint, they choose me! It is my pleasure to bring life to the canvas.
Current favourite quote: ‘The world always seems brighter when you’ve just made something that wasn’t there before.’ Neil Gaiman
Glenda has been an aspiring artist all her life. Strongly influenced by her parents, she has doggedly pursued art for many years and now stands on the cusp of realising her dream.
A member of the East Coast Car Club, she loves cruising through the countryside in “Charlotte” her Corvette Stingray. At every turn she discovers a bush scene, an ocean view or an old disused weatherboard shed just begging to be immortalised in acrylics.
Her personal “arty space” (art studio) is a converted sauna. As well as her acrylic artworks you can view her much loved 1976 classic car.
