STUDIO Judy Muir Beaumaris Beach Guest House Gallery 16 Bel-Air Crescent Beaumaris Tasmania.
Judy Muir is a painter and printmaker in Beaumaris. She is motivated by colour and shape and has three current ideas that emerge in her work.
- Day three
Belief in a greater creative being underpins all that I do in my life and express in my artwork. That belief informs and directs my subject matter and ideas explored.
- The dress
In this printmaking series of collagraphs, chine colle, lino prints and monotype prints I have called on memories of events shared with siblings and combined these with a lifelong fascination with layered fabrics to produce the series ‘Dresses’. It creates a narrative of a 1960’s childhood informed by sisterhood, movies and the imaginings of little girls.
- Inside outside
Beauty is all around each of us and needs to be celebrated. It emanates from home, holiday places, imaginary landscapes and its familiarity gives comfort and peace on many levels. This collection of paintings is a representation of my world, my place in it and connections to it.
These and other work can be viewed at the Beaumaris Beach Guest House Gallery.
